The Process
The wall-mounted Sculptures are abstract 3D compositional ‘Actions’.
A space is established within a steel framework, with found agricultural & industrial objects utilised to effect a compositional event.
Through establishing a method of 3D abstraction that explores fresh meaning, wrought from defunct & dis-functional practical objects and by combining the ‘old-world essence’ with the ‘shiny immediacy’ of the present, the sculptures’ visceral elements present fresh & unexpected new meanings.
When lit, a doppler-effect is achieved, producing a multiplicity of line & shade which mirrors & augments the original compositional event, expanding the visual aspect of the work as a whole & creating liminal dimensions for the viewer.
The Sculptures invert the notion of function concerning practical objects. Through exploring the purpose, the visual & the tactile nature of objects, a unique artistic language presents itself.

Pod Farlow
Sculptor and Creative Engineer
Pod is an artist based in the West of England, and has exhibited multiple times across the South West of England and in Wales.
Pod was brought up on Exmoor, a place that time forgot. Since joining the 20th century, having lived in many urban and rural locations, he now resides in 21st century Gloucestershire.
He has a wide range of skills that contribute to his creative practice, including prop making and set building for film, T.V. and theatre.
He is co-founder of Croon Productions, a puppet-performance company and also Tank&Drum Co. which makes ambient industrial music.
